EPE DEPARTMENT ORGANIZES TWO WEEK WORKSHOP ON
ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEM
IN ASSOCIATION WITH IIT KHARAGPUR
With
an aim to enhance the
teaching skills of our faculty colleagues in core engineering subjects, Department
of Electrical Power & Energy organized a two-week workshop on Electric
Power System from July 10 to July 15, 2017. The workshop was conducted as a
part of ISTE Short Term
Training Programme (STTPs)- a joint venture of IIT Kharagpur & IIT Bombay,
under Train Ten Thousand Teachers (T10KT) project using 353 established remote
centers across India.

The workshop gave a detailed exposure
to Elements of Power System, Importance of Renewables and Importance of ICT in
reliable operation of Power System. The teaching faculty- Professor N K
Kishore, Department
of Electrical Engineering, IIT Kharagpur, Professor Shreevardhan A Soman, Department
of Electrical Engineering, IITBombay and Professor Gautam Bandyopadhyay, Department
of Electrical Engineering, IIEST Kolkata gave a comprehensive insight into Identifying as to what Comprises a
Power System, Realizing the need for Renewable Energy Sources for Electric
Power Supply, Become aware of usefulness of ICT in reliable operation of
Electric Power System and be able to carry out all essential analyses necessary
to have reliable operation of Electric Power System.
